Task 1: Understanding 'single camera production'


a)   Define 'single camera production':
A single camera production is something that is shot with a single camera on set. For example a music video or a film.


b) Identify the advantages and disadvantages of single camera production (refer to examples where you can):


Advantages

·         Cheaper because you don’t have to buy more than one camera.
·         You have more control of the lighting and sound for each shot that is taken.
·         Makes it more flexible for actors.
·         You don’t have a limit of where to set your shot.
Disadvantages

·         You won’t be able to get more than one shot at the same time
·         Time consuming when editing
·          


c)    What is multi camera production
This is an opposite of single camera production. This is a way of shooting films, television shows and films with several cameras on the set.


d)  How does multi-camera differ to single camera productions?
Single camera action is cheaper and faster. However multi camera action needs additional things like coordination with the audience and they need to rehearse because they will be performing in front of a live audience. ___________________________________________________
